May 6: Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now!, will speak, 12 p.m., in HUB auditorium, University of Washington, Seattle; and 7:30 p.m., at Bellingham H.S. Performing Arts Center, Bellingham.
May 6: Robert McChesney, media scholar and former Seattle independent media publisher, will speak, 7:30 p.m., in Kane Hall room 120, University of Washington, Seattle.
May 7: Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now!, will be featured speaker at benefit for KBCS radio, 7 p.m., at Town Hall, Seattle.
May 26: Robert Jensen, Professor of Journalism at University of Texas at Austin and author of Citizens of the Empire, will speak, 7 p.m., at Keystone Church, Seattle.
June 5: Media Analysis Workshop with Daniel Hannah, director of media literacy education at Reclaim The Media, 5:30-7:00 p.m., at Keystone Church, Seattle.
December 12: CCRJ Organizing Meeting with Phinney Neighbors for Peace & Justice, 3-5 p.m., at 5107 Phinney Ave N, Seattle.

Amy Goodman to speak in Seattle and Bellingham
Bill Clinton called Amy Goodman "hostile, combative and even disrespectful." Newt Gingrich called her "the kind of reporter I warned my mother about." The independent journalist and host of Democracy Now! will read from and discuss her first book, The Exception to the Rulers. Hear Amy speak at:

Robert McChesney to speak in Seattle
Media scholar and former Seattle independent media publisher Robert McChesney has been a central figure in the recent media reform insurgency across the US. His books and articles on the history of US media policy, global media governance and media activism include many landmark titles, including his latest, The Problem of the Media. Hear McChesney speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at the University of Washington's Kane Hall, room 120. A portion of proceeds will benefit Reclaim the Media.

"Word of Mouth: A Benefit for KBCS"
featuring Amy Goodman at Town Hall, SeattleA benefit for KBCS 91.3 FM radio will feature Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now!, at Town Hall (1119 8th Ave, at Seneca Street) in Seattle. Journalism Professor Robert Jensen
to speak on "Citizens of the Empire"Robert Jensen, Professor of Journalism at University of Texas at Austin and author of "Citizens of the Empire", will speak at Keystone Church (5019 Keystone Place N) in Seattle. For a map, click here.
Jensen will speak on how to improve mainstream news media, as well as the topic of his new book, Citizens of the Empire: The Struggle to Claim Our Humanity (City Lights, 2004), which offers ways to retain hope while living in empire.
